What suppor
Ohana collaborates with universities across the country, including Loughborough University, providing support for parents and guardians during their children’s transition to university life in order to lessen their symptoms of empty nest syndrome. This support continues throughout the entirety of the students university journey.
We offer support to help prepare before the child leaves for university through the formation of a virtual community for parents and guardians to share advice and have discussions with each other, along with a series of virtual events comprising of a variety of topics, including mental health and managing stress. One of our key focuses is connecting parents and guardians together to build a network of support. However, we also provide tools to help everyone stay connected with friends, family, and partners, as well as maintain their relationship with their soon to be, or now long distance child, easing any worries about their well-being.
We don’t stop there! We provide a parent and guardian support package that includes a range of tools that can be picked up on move in day. These resources are designed to tackle the causes of empty nest syndrome. One focus is encouragement to shift from supporting the child’s dreams to pursuing their own. To tell them – ‘’Be proud of your success in raising your child—now it's your turn’’. We want them to consider the goals they’ve always wanted to achieve. We have implemented a collection of reflective tools designed to alleviate the sense of loss of purpose, help adopt a positive mindset, and reduce stress levels that some may feel when undergoing this life change.
Our genuine language, everyday abbreviations, and handwritten notes create an approachable, informal tone, making you feel like you’re chatting with a close friend. This fosters a strong connection between our brand and our audience.
